Bloodlines:: She is what they call "pure blood"
Wand:: Professor Amistilli has a lovely wand, though it is not envied, it is rather unique. Though I suppose that's suitable, considering she is a very unique person. The wand is medium in length about fifteen inches. It is a rich red mahogany, with a hair from the mane of a sea kelpie at the core. From where the tip is, it seems perfectly normal. Then as it widens to the top, it begins to curve and knot into an odd and deformed shape. So far sounds pretty ugly, eh? Except at the tip of the handle there is a circular prism, clear and mysterious, it resembles a crystal ball and is held in place by what one must know to be magic.
Pets:: Ah, pets. The only thing keeping the lonely sane and the privilaged humble. Ruby obtained her abnormally small owl when she was sixteen, and is still in awe at how long he has lived. Being a rather tired at the time and completely unable to think up a suitable name she settled on the amazingly inadequate name of Newt. The petite barn owl is light auburn in color, with black and crimson nestled in his feathers. His breast is a creamy white, along with his right eye. The left eye is a malt chocolate brown.

Appearance:: Ruby has always been classified as "merely pretty" her entire life. She has to admit that it's frusterating being just in the middle. She's not beautiful, but she's not ugly. Yet she has learned to fall back on her wit instead. But, that's later on in the application, let's get on with her appearance.
Locks
Ruby's hair has always been a frusteration of her's. It's color is alright, being a sun-kissed golden brown. But, it's the texture that tests her patience. No matter how much she fluffs, curls, sprays or curses, her golden locks refuse to bounce. She will have the occasional wave here and there, but for the most part it's straight as a rail.
Opals
Ah, the eyes. The window to a creatures soul. Most people would agree that the eyes are the first thing you look at when you meet someone new. Ruby believes her eyes to be her best feature. Not because of the steely blue color or the perfect almond shape. Nor the lovely arched eyebrows and thick dark lashes. She believes her eyes are her best feature because all her emotions shine right through. She has no control over it, but no matter what she's feeling; unhappy, clever, gitty, playful, mournful, or melancholy; her feeling will beam through. And she likes that. She doesn't like to hide what she feels inside.
The Lips, the Teeth, the Chin
Professor Amistilli has what one would call... the pouty lips. Though, that is only seen when she is deep in thought, because otherwise there is a sweet dimpled smile plastered across her features. The teeth that lie beneath are perfectly white, though it's obvious she hadn't had the privilage of braces for alignment.
Her chin is small, round and juts out just a smidgen at the bottom.
The Figure
Figure... what figure? Ms. Amistilli has curves, to be sure, but they are very hard to find. She has more of a petite box shape, and because of that she dresses appropriately for her body. Though, she absolutely adores funky dresses and flats.

Personality:: Ruby's personality is really not that complex. She is an all around happy person. She is a strong willed and opinionated young woman, but is not angered easily. She very much enjoys playful debates, for she is rather competitive, and she very much enjoys the satisfation of out-witting someone.
Ruby has a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor, but adores hearing others laugh at something she has said either intentionally or unintentionally. Though, most people just seem to laugh at her , and her goofy screw ups and crazy antics. In fact, sometimes if she is in a large group of people she doesn't know, she frightens them with nervous outbreaks of snorting giggles from something she has said in her head. Slightly insane, yes, but that's only when she's under enormous pressure. Most of the time she is level headed, intellegent, and collected.
History:: Ruby's history begins in the quaint little town of Kenai, Alaska, where she was born in raised. As you may assume, not many wizards and witches come out of Alaska. That's only because they have never migrated there. But, her parents did. They wanted to find somewhere rustic and mysterious to raise their soon to be witch. Ruby was told of her magic at the age of five, then again at eight when she could comprehend slightly more then before. Her father would tell her stories of the spells and hexes that he learned when he was in school, and her mother would tell her the recipes for potions (not to mention a mean pumpkin pie).
As Ruby grew older, and she attended Veneficus, she discovered her unriveled passion for divination. She thought it enchanting and wonderful, the thought of being able to know the future. She found the different methods fascinating and was told by her professor that she had a knack for it. From that moment on she poured all of herself; mind, body, and soul into the art of divination. She graduated and apprenticed for and elderly wizard called Verti Cal. She always thought it a rather odd name, but never questioned it. When old Verti died, Ruby was traumatized, and took a year off of wizarding to live life as a muggle. She had loved Verti as a grandfather. But, finally, she came to the conclusion that avoiding the magic realm only made it more depressing not to be there. So, she decided on trying for a position here, where her talent was discovered.
